Not only did the alarm go off to wake me this morning but there was someone with a PA system thinking it would be a good idea for all of Mbita to hear them worship at 5AM in the morning. Personally, the bible says to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. This however, did not, in my opinion, fit the description. The person playing and singing should probably do whatever it was they were doing in private. While we were getting around and ready to leave Nancy and I talked about it and I told here they should not torture cats that early in the morning and the most merciful thing they could do was put the poor creature (and us) out of it’s misery. At that she and I had a good laugh. Don, Nancy and I left for the ferry landing to catch the 7AM ferry to go to Kisumu. We have to pick up a couple people who are flying in and get some groceries and parts for repairs around here. I also am to drop off some literacy materials for Grace in Bondo to get started with their project there.
We made it safely to Kisumu and met up with Martha and Yoko and got their bags loaded. We left the airport and went to the Sunset Hotel for brunch. After brunch we went to the ATM to make money draws then off do the shopping (where I met Grace to give her the books) and got everything we needed including getting some propane cylinders exchanged just in time to leave Kisumu at 4PM to catch the last ferry back to Mbita. It made for a long day and we finally got home around 8:30 at which time Allie and Leah had dinner on the table waiting for us. I was glad to finally get to settle in for the night and get some emails done.
